  • Liaised with a local solicitor to amend the will in line with client’s wishes
  • Developed a bespoke investment strategy
  • Simplified and consolidated investments
  • Implemented Trust arrangements to immediately reduce potential IHT by £120000 and increase income
  • After 7 years further £100,000 IHT saving through use of trusts and gifts.

The Results

  • Created a stable and increasing income for life, sufficient to cover any possible long term care needs
  • Eliminated £120,000 of IHT immediately with further savings over time
  • Increased income allowing the client to gift more of her assets to family without worrying that this would affect her standard of living.
  • Put in place a strategy that will eventually more than halve the IHT bill with cash available under trust to pay any IHT bill without waiting for probate
